Forecast Discussion

A stationary front is situated south of the state today and will allow some briefly drier air to work its way into the mountains and foothills. That should give us a mostly sunny but hot daytime.

Low level moisture is poised to sneak back into western North Carolina on Saturday as a ripple of low pressure rides along the front to our south. This will allow for pretty good coverage of afternoon and nighttime showers and thunderstorms. Scattered showers and thunderstorms will linger into Sunday with a mix of sun and clouds.

Monday features a good deal of sunshine with widely scattered PM thundershowers. Clusters of thunderstorms rolling southeastward out of the Ohio and Tennessee Valleys will have to watched and timed as they head into our neck of the woods Tuesday and Wednesday.
